Ramblings & Rants of an Egg Sushi

Saturday, December 10

Day out with Campus cell at Sentosa! Yeah! It was a laid-back day for us as we got to enjoy the sun, beach and breeze long before the Zouk Out crowd takes over the Siloso Beach.

We were down to recee, check out what we can do on the beach and where the amenties are, in preparation for an upcoming Thanksgiving event, Eucharistia, next Saturday.

While there, we were tempted (I'd say, very very tempted) to try the Sentosa Luge, and what a ride it was! You get to take the Chairlift, which are like floating benches hanging on a moving cable up the Imbiah Hill, before luging our way down. Whee! 1 ride cosst $8, 3 rides for $15 and 4 rides for $20.

After that is fellowship at Burger King at the nostalgic Ferry Terminal, near the "antique" Musical Fountain and the "one-dollar-for-one-rice-grain" Sentosa Food Centre (what? it hasn't closed down?).

Friday night was spent with camp mates who had toiled with you throughout the week. The nominal roll for the night includes Koh, Michelle, Matthew and his beloved.

We found no seats at The Food Republic at Wisma Atria, and had to settle for Pepper Lunch at Ngee Ann City. Food was so-so. Matthew and his girlfriend left, so the whole bunch of us went to Cuppage Centre for a round of pool, which has possibly the hardest table and narrowest holes in Singapore. It is so hard, you want to 'shadow' or push lightly also difficult ah. But we enjoyed the game.

Next was Aeon Flux at Cineleisure Orchard. Basically a action film with no substance. Reminds me of Sin City, but not so bloody. Then was a long ride home. I met Denise from my cell on my way home, but, her babbling made me quite sick because I'm too tired to absorb anything intensive, so after she left the bus I had such a terrible headache I had to close my eyes. Of course, when I opened my eyes, I have already reached Khatib MRT Station.

No return, I endured through the sighseeing ride around Yishun New Town before re-orienting my dizzy and unbalanced head with some music. That was probably the only time my iBook was brought to good use after lugging it around the whole night. Yeah, but if I never bring, people would complain that they feel bored.

The first bus to leave Yishun Interchange was due in less than an hour, and it's amazing how quickly people from all parts of the town gathered here and filling the place with some buzz in the space of an hour. Made it to bed by 5.45am.

Meanwhile, check out these interesting signs and illustrations at Sentosa Luge (click for a larger pic):

Nice signboard covering every safety aspect.

Realised that all that lengthy instructions in English can so simply be put across with the Chinese phrase "控制".

Hilarious illustrations.
